About this role
Carvana's Fleet Maintenance team in Winder is looking for a Diesel Technician to keep their Class 8 truck and trailer fleet running safely and reliably. You'll handle preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles that are all under manufacturer warranty—meaning your focus stays on routine upkeep and troubleshooting rather than major overhauls or emergency roadside work. The role involves using diagnostic software to identify and fix issues across engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and aftertreatment components, plus collaborating with your team to maintain records and minimize downtime.
This is an entry-level position that expects three or more years of hands-on experience with heavy-duty diesel equipment, whether from trucking, agriculture, construction, or similar industries. You'll need strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, comfort with laptop-based manuals and diagnostic tools, and a willingness to earn two ASE certifications within your first six months (Carvana covers the cost). MIG welding experience is a bonus.
The Wednesday-through-Saturday schedule runs 7am to 6pm, with pay between $19 and $23 per hour plus overtime opportunities. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k match, 104 hours of PTO in year one, and allowances for tools ($500 annually) and work boots ($100 every six months). Carvana also offers tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment, and a vehicle purchase discount. You'll need a valid driver's license with a clean record, the ability to perform physical tasks like lifting and bending, and reliable attendance.
