About this role

Winter Garden Animal Hospital is looking for a Senior Veterinary Assistant to join a multi-doctor practice where you'd support veterinarians across the full range of clinical work. You'd handle animal restraint, instrument sterilization, and equipment maintenance, while also performing technical procedures—venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiography, and dental work, depending on state regulations and your experience. Client communication and accurate record-keeping are part of the role, so you'd interact regularly with pet owners and manage patient files alongside your clinical duties.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that demands physical stamina (regular lifting of 40 lbs), flexibility with weekend availability, and genuine compassion for both animals and people. You'll need prior animal hospital experience and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment. The role requires full-time, in-office presence to ensure continuity of patient care and team collaboration.

American Veterinary Group offers solid benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k match, generous PTO, paid parental and maternity leave, and a work/life balance day. They also provide tuition assistance if you're pursuing veterinary technician certification, professional development opportunities, discounted veterinary care, and a scrub allowance.
