About this role

Van's Kitchen is hiring a Prep Operator for first shift work at their Dallas facility, where you'd rotate through vegetable prep, protein prep, and recipe prep duties in a food manufacturing environment. The role centers on precise food handling—shredding and grinding ingredients to recipe specifications, weighing components, operating prep machinery, and monitoring temperature logs. You'd also handle supporting tasks like stocking tortilla bags on production lines and pushing completed buggies to the mixer. Success here depends on strict adherence to food safety protocols, SOPs, and sanitation standards, along with the physical stamina to lift up to 30 pounds regularly while standing, bending, and working in both warm and cold conditions.

This is a full-time position suited to someone with food manufacturing or packaging experience, though not strictly required. You'll need a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and the ability to learn quickly and take direction in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy production setting. The role involves cross-training across prep areas to fill gaps as needed, so flexibility and teamwork are essential. Van's Kitchen offers competitive pay at $15 per hour, performance-based bonuses, health and dental coverage, company-paid disability and life insurance, a retirement plan with company match, and paid time off.
