About this role

Astranis is hiring an RF Validation Intern for a twelve-week winter position to support hardware validation and measurement automation for satellite communications systems. You'll work hands-on with RF components—low-noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and converters—taking measurements with industry-standard equipment like spectrum analyzers and network analyzers. Beyond bench work, you'll write Python automation code to streamline testing workflows and document test plans and methodologies for the team.

This role is designed for currently enrolled electrical engineering or computer engineering students with solid fundamentals in RF theory and practical lab experience. You should be comfortable with transmission lines, S-parameters, and RF building blocks, and have real experience running measurements on RF test equipment. Python and object-oriented programming skills are expected. If you have background in antennas, electromagnetics, software-defined radios, or RF measurement automation, that's a plus. The position requires U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency due to export regulations governing space technology.

The internship is based in San Francisco and in-office, paying $29 per hour. This is a chance to contribute directly to design validation for satellites already in orbit and upcoming launches, working within a 500-person engineering team at a well-funded company.
