About this role
Tax Alchemy is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead its tax practice for high-net-worth clients while building and mentoring an internal team and coordinating with offshore preparers. You'll own complex returns from start to finish—handling individuals, families, trusts, partnerships and corporations with multistate and significant investment activity—and serve as the department's go-to technical resource on intricate tax matters. This is a hands-on role where you'll both prepare returns yourself and review the work of others, while also driving process improvements through workflow analysis and technology adoption.
The ideal candidate holds an active CPA or EA credential and brings at least eight years of tax experience, with a minimum of three years in a management capacity. You'll need a proven track record preparing and reviewing sophisticated returns for affluent clients, direct experience managing or coordinating offshore teams, and solid knowledge of individual, trust and business tax planning. Familiarity with platforms like UltraTax, G-Suite and CRM systems is expected, along with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, communicate clearly across clients and departments, and maintain meticulous attention to detail under deadline pressure.
The position is fully remote and offers a competitive salary of $145,000 to $170,000, comprehensive health coverage, a 401(k) match, unlimited paid vacation, paid sick days and holidays, and continuing education support. You'll report to the Director and President, with direct oversight of one or more Tax Preparers and collaborative responsibility for the offshore team's workflow and performance.
