About this role
At the University of Tennessee at Martin's Center for Student Engagement, this role sits at the intersection of student support, program leadership, and academic oversight. You would manage a small professional team while developing and refining career programming specifically for business students, overseeing everything from the internship course to peer consultant services. The position requires balancing strategic planning—designing initiatives that respond to evolving student needs—with hands-on assessment work to measure what's actually working and communicate those findings across campus.
The ideal candidate brings at least five years in an educational setting, with demonstrated experience designing programs and building assessment frameworks. You'll need strong supervisory skills, the ability to work across departments and build consensus, and genuine familiarity with business communication fundamentals like resumes and cover letters. A master's degree in education, counseling, business, or a related field is required; prior work with undergraduate business students and curriculum development experience would strengthen your candidacy.
This is a full-time, in-office position in Knoxville. The role demands someone comfortable with data-driven decision making, professional development activities including conference participation, and the flexibility to step in as needed across multiple priorities—from resolving escalated issues to providing one-on-one career coaching to students.
