About this role
Ascension's psychiatric nursing practice in Murfreesboro offers an inpatient role within a large, mission-driven health system. You would join an established team in a busy setting with full institutional support—including access to support staff and the resources of a national nonprofit network. The position is employed rather than contracted, providing stability within a physician-led, collaborative culture that emphasizes long-term practice sustainability.
The role requires a Master's degree in Nursing, current Tennessee RN licensure (compact state accepted), and Nurse Practitioner credentials from the Tennessee Board of Nursing prior to your start date. You'll need BLS certification within your first month. No prior psychiatric practice experience is required. The inpatient setting means no call structure, and you'll have access to ambient listening AI technology as part Ascension's clinical infrastructure.
This position suits someone seeking employment stability within a large health system rather than independent or contract work, and who is drawn to mission-centered care in a Catholic healthcare environment. If you hold the required credentials and are licensed to practice in Tennessee, this is a straightforward entry point into psychiatric nursing practice at an established organization.
