About this role

You'd be managing the systems that let students and advisors track degree progress and plan their academic paths at a large research university. The role combines technical leadership—configuring and maintaining degree audit software like uAchieve, overseeing data structures and integrations—with people management, as you'd supervise the Registrar Systems Analyst team and coordinate across campus departments, IT, and vendors. Success requires deep knowledge of how curriculum rules, academic policies, and advising practices translate into system logic, plus the ability to explain that complexity to non-technical stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.

This position suits someone with at least three years of hands-on experience encoding degree audit systems who's ready to step into a supervisory role. You'll need strong analytical skills to interpret requirements and solve edge cases, solid data fundamentals (SQL concepts, validation, reconciliation), and familiarity with student information systems like Banner. A background in higher education compliance and the curricular approval process is valuable. The hybrid arrangement offers flexibility while keeping you on campus in Knoxville.

UT Knoxville offers comprehensive benefits including substantial paid leave (24 vacation days plus 12 sick days annually), education benefits for dependents, retirement plans, and full health coverage. The Division of Enrollment Management is part of a land-grant institution with over 38,000 students and strong research credentials, giving you a substantive institutional context for your work.
