About this role
University of Tennessee at Martin's mail and package services operation needs someone to lead its team and manage the full scope of campus mail delivery—from supervising staff and student employees to overseeing intelligent locker systems, handling USPS compliance, and managing financial reconciliation across multiple shipping carriers. The role blends hands-on operational work with strategic leadership: you'll troubleshoot equipment issues and process surge staffing plans, but your primary focus is directing the team, building relationships with campus partners and carrier representatives, and driving performance improvements through data analysis and regular reporting to leadership.
This position suits someone with at least four years of progressive supervisory experience in large-scale processing, logistics, or postal operations who can demonstrate a track record of team development and familiarity with automation software. Preferred candidates will have worked in higher education mail services and have direct experience with package locker systems and postal regulations. You'll need to be comfortable with occasional weekend or evening work, travel a couple of times yearly, and the physical demands of occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
The role is full-time and based in Knoxville, with compensation at the UT Market Range MR13 level and access to university benefits. Applications are due by November 9, 2026.
