About this role
Story Cannabis is a vertically integrated cannabis retailer with locations across multiple states, and this part-time role in Massillon puts you at the front line of their customer-facing operations. You'd be responsible for greeting customers, verifying eligibility in their database systems, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining inventory—essentially ensuring the store runs smoothly while delivering the product knowledge and service that define the brand experience.
The position demands strong fundamentals: cash handling precision, comfort with POS systems, solid math skills, and the ability to work a physical shift that involves standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Customer service experience is preferred, and cannabis knowledge is a bonus, but the core requirement is reliability, organization, and the ability to work cohesively with a team toward compliance and sales goals. You'll need to be 21 or older, legally authorized to work in the U.S., hold a valid state ID or passport, and have reliable transportation with no scheduling conflicts.
As a part-time role, this position does not include the benefits package (PTO, health insurance, 401k, disability, and life insurance are reserved for full-time employees), though you would be eligible for employee discounts, referral programs, and commuter benefits. If you're looking for entry-level retail work in the cannabis space with a company founded by industry veterans, this could be a solid fit—particularly if you're organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a customer-service environment.
