About this role
Sony Interactive Entertainment is looking for an experienced program leader to oversee large-scale initiatives across the PlayStation ecosystem. This Principal Program Manager role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, responsible for shepherding complex, cross-functional programs from conception through launch and value realization. You'd work with distributed teams spanning engineering, product, design, operations, and business functions, translating strategic objectives into clear outcomes and keeping geographically dispersed groups aligned on priorities and ownership.
The work demands both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You'll establish program structures and governance models suited to each initiative's scale, anticipate risks and dependencies across the broader landscape, and communicate program health and trade-offs clearly to senior leadership. This is fundamentally about creating clarity in ambiguous environments—defining what success looks like, how teams will work together, and what decisions need to happen when. You'll also mentor other program managers and help evolve how the organization approaches program delivery more broadly.
The role requires seven or more years leading complex, multi-functional technology or consumer programs, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders and operating effectively across organizational boundaries. You should have experience establishing governance and decision-making frameworks at scale, and a demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into executable plans. The position is based in San Mateo and requires in-office work, with a salary range of $220,900 to $331,300.
