About this role

Prosperity Partners is looking for a Senior Tax Manager to lead their growing New York City office, overseeing complex tax engagements while building client relationships and developing the local team. You'll manage sophisticated tax compliance work across businesses, high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and family offices, while also serving as a trusted advisor on tax planning, succession planning, M&A, and wealth transfer strategies. The role blends technical leadership—reviewing returns, guiding junior staff, and ensuring quality delivery—with client-facing advisory and business development responsibilities.

This position suits someone with 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience, a CPA license, and deep expertise in federal, state, and multi-state taxation. You'll need strong technical chops in flow-through entities, estate and trust matters, and complex return preparation, combined with the ability to explain intricate concepts clearly and mentor professionals at various levels. The firm values leaders who can balance financial rigor with interpersonal skill and who are interested in shaping how the office grows.

Prosperity offers hybrid flexibility, a defined path to partnership, potential equity participation through their Employee Purpose Plan, and the chance to inherit an established client base while expanding it. You'll have access to national platform resources while maintaining entrepreneurial influence at the local level. The salary range is $180,000–$220,000.
