About this role
Kailera Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Director to lead alliance management efforts, with primary responsibility for stewarding the company's strategic partnership with Hengrui Pharmaceuticals. You would serve as the central relationship lead across this critical collaboration, managing governance, contract compliance, and ongoing alignment between both organizations. The role demands someone equally comfortable navigating internal stakeholder needs and external partner dynamics, with particular emphasis on cross-cultural collaboration and multi-functional coordination.
This position requires at least 12 years in biotech or pharma, with a minimum of 5 years specifically managing alliances. You'll need demonstrated strength in contract negotiation, project management across multiple initiatives simultaneously, and the ability to lead and develop an alliance management team. Fluency in both English and Mandarin—written and verbal—is essential, given the nature of the Hengrui partnership and the need to interpret Mandarin-language documents and communications directly.
The role is contract-based and hybrid, with flexibility between a Waltham hub (3–4 days onsite weekly) or fully remote with monthly hub visits. Compensation ranges from $242,000 to $290,000, with benefits including health coverage, wellness stipends, 401(k) matching, equity grants, and annual bonus opportunities. A bachelor's degree in business or life sciences is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
