About this role

Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda is seeking a Pastry Chef to lead the creation and execution of pastry and dessert offerings for the hotel. You'll work closely with the Master Pastry Chef and Food and Beverage Director to develop seasonal menus that reflect current trends and regional preferences, while maintaining the high quality and presentation standards expected in a luxury hotel environment. Beyond the kitchen, you'll engage directly with guests to gather feedback and refine the pastry experience, and you'll manage the financial performance of pastry operations through budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

The role demands someone with 2–3 years of pastry experience in 4- or 5-star hotels or high-standard independent restaurants, ideally with formal culinary or hospitality training. You'll oversee kitchen systems and workflows, mentor junior staff, and ensure strict compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards. International hotel chain experience is preferred. You must already have valid work authorization in Japan and be able to communicate effectively in Japanese.

This position suits a pastry professional ready to balance creative menu development with operational management and team leadership in a prestigious international hotel setting.
