About this role

Ohalo Genetics is seeking a Senior Technical Agronomist to lead field trial execution and agronomic strategy for its potato breeding program, with potential to expand into other crops. Based in Brazil and reporting to the VP of Global Commercial, you'll operate at the intersection of plant breeding, trial operations, and data science—managing protocols from planting through crop protection, ensuring data integrity, and translating trial results into grower recommendations. The role demands someone equally comfortable troubleshooting in the field and communicating findings to leadership, with roughly 60% travel to trial sites across multiple Brazilian locations.

This position suits an agronomist or crop scientist with at least 10 years of field-based experience who thrives in operational complexity. You'll coordinate with growers and internal teams, oversee data collection and regulatory compliance, optimize trial logistics, and support the sales team with technical training and site visits. Experience with potatoes is preferred; background in small seeded vegetables is also considered. Beyond agronomic expertise, you'll need strong project management skills—budget oversight, contractor coordination, and scheduling—plus comfort with digital tools including GIS, GPS, trial management systems, and AI applications.

This is a full-time remote role with no visa sponsorship available. A valid driver's license and willingness to work outdoors in variable conditions are essential.
