Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day:
- Perform essential accounting functions: Execute tasks across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Accounting to support financial operations
- Address questions and disputes: Research and respond to inquiries and partner with internal and external parties to resolve disputes promptly
- Participate in financial reporting: Assist with the production of monthly accounts, month-end responsibilities, and internal controls over financial data
- Assist with financial communication: Report financial results and aid in understanding financial matters for both internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate for success: Build and maintain cooperative relationships with other finance and corporate departments

- University degree with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Attention to detail, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with system skills in Check SCM, SUN.
- A professional accounting qualification would be advantageous.
About this role
On is seeking an Accounting Officer for its Kota Kinabalu office to manage core accounting functions across accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger operations. You'll handle day-to-day transaction processing, investigate and resolve financial discrepancies with internal and external partners, and contribute to month-end close procedures and financial reporting. The role also involves communicating financial results to stakeholders and working cross-functionally with other finance and corporate teams.
The position requires a university degree with one to two years of accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office plus familiarity with Check SCM and SUN systems. A professional accounting qualification is preferred but not required. You should have solid communication and interpersonal skills, as much of the work involves coordinating with colleagues and external parties to resolve questions and disputes. This is a full-time, in-office role suited to someone early in their accounting career who is ready to take on operational responsibility within a structured finance function.
