About this role

GRVTY is looking for a Product Owner to drive software delivery for a government defense program based in Sterling, Virginia. You'll own the product backlog and serve as the critical link between operational needs and a software development team, translating requirements from government Systems Engineering, operators, and technical leadership into prioritized sprint work. This is a hands-on role that demands both strategic thinking and tactical execution—you'll lead backlog grooming and planning sessions, monitor sprint metrics, present to engineering review boards, and ensure each increment delivers working software that meets mission objectives.

The position requires someone who can operate independently in a complex, fast-paced Agile environment while collaborating across multiple teams. You'll need to understand operator needs deeply enough to break down vague requirements into actionable work items, assess technical solutions for scalability and sustainability, and use data to inform roadmap decisions. A Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI is mandatory, along with strong communication skills, technical proficiency with Agile tools like Jira and GitLab, and genuine comfort with software development processes. Prior experience with cloud platforms, Electronic Warfare, or Scrum Product Owner certification would strengthen your candidacy.

This is a contract role offering $200,000–$250,000 annually, with in-office work required in Sterling, Virginia. GRVTY emphasizes competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits including healthcare and retirement planning, and professional growth opportunities.
