About this role

Hearst Health's Sacramento television station is seeking a Business Manager who will operate at the intersection of finance and human resources—a hybrid leadership role reporting directly to the President and General Manager. You'll own both sides of this function: managing monthly financial closings, forecasts, and budgets while simultaneously handling payroll processing, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance. The role also encompasses accounts payable, expense management, fleet operations, and asset tracking, making it genuinely multifaceted.

This position demands someone with at least five years of accounting or finance experience plus demonstrated HR expertise, ideally backed by a professional HR certification. You'll need strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Oracle (both HCM and EPBCS modules), ADP, and accounting software. Payroll experience is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be exceptionally organized, analytically sharp, and comfortable communicating financial insights to department heads while navigating union labor relations and managing employee data systems.

The role is full-time and in-office in Sacramento. The salary range is $115,000 to $130,000, with benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and paid parental leave.
