About the role

Accounting and controllership are centralized under the CAO; this role owns everything forward-looking for Services.

Role is embedded with the Services organization as the day-to-day finance partner to segment operating leaders, while reporting to the VP, Nuclear Finance, preserving a clean group finance line. Builds and leads the Services finance team so the segment can absorb acquisitions without losing forecast accuracy or reporting discipline. Success depends on operating fluently across two worlds...

1) the operational, field-driven rhythm of a labor-intensive services business, working closely with P&L owners on jobs, crews, and customers, and

2) group planning and reporting, partnering tightly with the VP, Nuclear Finance, the Controller's team, and Corporate FP&A so Services plugs cleanly into corporate processes.

Responsibilities

Business partnership & P&L leadership

  • Deliver decision-quality analysis on job profitability, unit economics, labor utilization, backlog, and working capital
  • Run the monthly operating review rhythm with Services leadership

FP&A and planning

  • Own the Services annual operating plan, rolling forecast, and long-range plan, integrating acquired businesses into a single segment operating model that rolls up cleanly to the group plan
  • Establish and track the KPIs that matter for the segment: job margin, utilization, backlog-to-bill, DSO and working capital
  • Maintain forecast accuracy standards for executive and board reporting

Contract economics & classification

  • Own segment and line-of-business classification at contract inception, working the revenue checklist with the Controller's team so every new contract lands where it belongs on day one
  • Keep rate cards current and defensible, including for related-party engagements, and give every material bid a finance view before it goes out

  • Establish a finance operating model that absorbs acquisitions without proportional headcount growth

About this role

The Nuclear Company is building a finance leadership role that sits at the intersection of operational services and corporate scale. As Senior Manager of Finance for Services, you'd own the financial strategy for a rapidly growing segment pursuing aggressive acquisitions—planning, forecasting, contract economics, and deal support—while embedding yourself as the day-to-day finance partner to Services operating leaders. This is a dual-world role: you'll need fluency in the labor-intensive, field-driven realities of services delivery (jobs, crews, utilization, margins) alongside the rigor of group planning, board reporting, and integration discipline. Success means keeping forecast accuracy tight and reporting clean as the company absorbs acquired businesses without losing operational grip.

The position demands 10+ years of progressive finance experience with proven FP&A and segment ownership, plus working knowledge of ASC 606 service contract accounting. You'll build and lead a finance team, own the annual operating plan and rolling forecasts, establish segment KPIs, run monthly operating reviews, and support the M&A program through diligence, deal modeling, and post-close accountability. The role also expects you to deploy AI tools and automation to scale the function—a core expectation across The Nuclear Company. A CPA or MBA is preferred, as is prior experience in field services, nuclear, utilities, or industrial settings where you've navigated craft labor economics and acquisitive growth.

This is a contract position based in Columbia, South Carolina, with in-office work required. The salary range is $151,000–$176,000.
