About this role
Zone 5 Technologies is seeking a senior avionics assembler to lead complex build efforts on next-generation unmanned aircraft systems. In this role, you'll move beyond standard assembly work to own high-reliability avionics and wiring harness builds with minimal oversight, interpret engineering documentation independently, and troubleshoot manufacturability issues in collaboration with engineering teams. You'll also mentor junior assemblers and contribute process improvement feedback based on your hands-on experience.
The position requires 3–5 years of aerospace or avionics electronics assembly background, with demonstrated expertise in wiring practices, connector systems, and workmanship standards. IPC 620 certification and a technical degree are valued. Success here depends on strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work through ambiguous or incomplete specs—typical of first-article and prototype builds. You'll work in-office in Paso Robles, California, and operate within AS9100 and FAA quality frameworks.
The role offers $29–34 per hour, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k) matching, three weeks of paid time off, and 12 company holidays. This is a full-time position suited to someone ready to step into a senior technical contributor role on programs that matter in defense and aerospace.
