About this role
Relativity Space's Machine Shop team is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer II to help scale production of machined components for the Terran R rocket. You'd own the full manufacturing lifecycle—writing process plans, SOPs, and inspection documentation; designing work-holding fixtures; and collaborating with design teams on manufacturability. The role balances hands-on problem-solving (root-cause analysis of non-conforming parts, process improvements) with strategic input on design for manufacturability and GD&T requirements that shape upstream decisions.
This position suits someone with a B.S. in Engineering and at least two years of hands-on machining experience, plus three or more years in manufacturing engineering, quality, or supply chain roles. You'll need solid GD&T knowledge; CAD/CAM proficiency, metrology expertise, and familiarity with lean principles are valuable but not required. The work is in-office in Long Beach and offers the rare opportunity to see your engineering directly integrated into flight hardware while the program is still building momentum.
Relativity offers a salary range of $104,000–$156,000, equity, generous PTO and parental leave, and an annual learning stipend. This is a full-time role where you'd have clear pathways to grow from process engineering into programming and advanced technical leadership as the company scales.
