About this role

RVO Health is seeking a Software Engineer for its Red Platform team in Minneapolis to help build healthcare technology serving over 40 million people monthly. This role sits at the intersection of full-stack development and technical leadership, requiring you to lead end-to-end design and implementation of sophisticated applications while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers. You'll work across the entire development lifecycle—from translating stakeholder requirements into technical designs, writing scalable code, and conducting rigorous testing, to performing code reviews and continuously improving development processes. The position is hybrid, with in-office expectations Tuesday through Thursday.

The ideal candidate brings at least three years of production software development experience with expert-level Go proficiency, plus hands-on work in Python and TypeScript. You'll need solid grounding in event-driven architecture (Kafka), data persistence (Postgres, DynamoDB, Nebula), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code. Beyond technical chops, the role demands strong problem-solving ability and particularly strong communication and interpersonal skills—you'll be collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate complex requirements into working systems. Healthcare experience and familiarity with compliance requirements are valued but not required.

The salary range is $97,000 to $120,000, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid parental leave, wellness coaching, and mental health support.
