Description

About Praxis

Praxis began in 2011 with a desire to support and equip Christian entrepreneurs and has grown steadily into a 30+ person, NY-centric team advancing the redemptive imagination and action of founders, funders, and innovators motivated by their faith to address the major issues of our time. As a $15M+/year nonprofit with ambitious growth plans, we're expanding our venture-building work globally, organizing around the major issues of our time, and building media and more to activate the redemptive potential of Christians around the world. We see our team as the first carriers of the mission, building an organization that is great to work at, excellent in its craft, and redemptive in its finances as well as its programs.

The Role

As our digital product leader, you own the strategy and execution for the experiences people have with Praxis online. You will define our digital product strategy (drafting off insights from our physical programming), audit the technology we run today, and build a roadmap to simplify, integrate, and grow a world-class portfolio. Your canvas spans established products like the Praxis.co website and the Local Ecosystems  platform, and the new digital hub for The Praxis Course.

You will lead the product process from end to end: understanding the people we serve, mapping their journeys, designing the experience, and partnering with builders to make it real. You set direction and you also do the work, sketching, prototyping, and testing rather than waiting for perfect clarity.

Our posture toward technology. We are a tech-forward, entrepreneurial organization, and we believe technology, including AI, is most fully itself when it serves human dignity. We want a leader who is curious and experimental with new tools and equally clear about their limits. The digital experiences we build should restore human agency rather than override it, deepen real relationships rather than simulate them, and draw people toward connection and flourishing rather than mere engagement. Discerning where AI helps, and where human creativity and judgment must lead, is central to the job.

What Success Looks Like

In the first months, you deliver a clear audit of our digital stack and an agreed distinctive and imaginative roadmap to simplify and integrate it. The Praxis Course Hub is part of that audit, and you’ll articulate a go-forward product roadmap for it, integrated with our future plans for the website, email, and the broader Praxis Platform. Over the first year, community members find our digital products simpler, more connected, and more useful, and Praxis holds a shared, confident picture of the portfolio we are building toward. We’re finding product-market fit, hitting growth milestones per experience, and seen as a leader, amongst our peers and portfolio, in product development and growth.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Digital product strategy and roadmap

  • Define and own the digital product strategy across customer-facing Praxis experiences.
  • Build and maintain a prioritized roadmap that simplifies and integrates a fragmented set of products.
  • Bring the people we serve, our partners, and our internal teams along with a strategy they understand and trust.

Human-centered design and journey architecture

  • Map the journeys of the people we serve and design experiences that help them take a meaningful next step.
  • Shape information architecture, content hierarchy, interface clarity, pacing, and the small moments that make a product feel cared for.
  • Decide what belongs on the web, in the platform, in an email, or in a notification, and make the whole feel cohesive rather than disconnected.

Prototyping, testing, and AI discernment

  • Turn vision and product goals into prototypes at speed, and test them with real audiences before committing.
  • Partner with engineers, designers, and outside dev shops, and design experiences that can actually be built.
  • Experiment with AI across research, design, and workflow while protecting the human judgment, creativity, and care this work requires.
  • Learn from peer and partner organizations and from leading mission-driven product teams.

Internal systems partnership

  • Consult & support Praxis internal tools and systems.
  • Partner with our Systems Director on integration, simplification, and the connection between internal systems and customer-facing products

How this role relates to our Design and Brand teams.

Our Sr. Director, Design leads the visual expression of Praxis. Our Director, Brand Marketing and Operations leads audience growth across channels. This role leads digital product strategy, user experience and journey architecture, the platform layer, and the underlying technology stack. The three operate as a close triad on shared surfaces like the website and the Course Hub.

Ideal Prior Experience

  • 10+ years in product, UX, or digital design roles including start-up or 0-1 launch experience.
  • A portfolio of shipped digital products and experiences that demonstrably served real users.
  • Experience auditing, consolidating, or rebuilding a technology stack across multiple platforms.
  • Experience working with engineers, external dev shops, or agency partners to deliver.
  • Familiarity with the tools that power digital products and lifecycle journeys, such as design, analytics, CMS, and lifecycle or email platforms.
  • Demonstration of being a curious, experiential learner and tinkerer – especially in the new frontier of digital development tools

Expected Competencies for the Role

  • Strong command of UX and UI, product management, and design, with the judgment to lead the full process.
  • Fluency to prototype directly in tools like Figma, modern AI-assisted build tools, and no-code or low-code platforms, and to write clear specs for engineers. Production engineering is not required, but is ideal.
  • Skill at journey and lifecycle design across web, app, email, and product touchpoints.
  • A track record of simplifying complex or fragmented technology into something coherent.
  • Comfort with research and data, and the habit of testing with real users.
  • Curiosity about AI paired with clear discernment about where it helps and where it does not belong.
  • Ability to work with a range of leadership stakeholders and to operate with a build, prototype, and test spirit.
  • Clear, warm communication, in writing and in the work itself.
  • Skillfully and comfortably use the Praxis set of digital tools, including Google Suite, Dropbox, Keynote, Airtable, Slack, Asana, Typeform, and Ramp

We're seeking a leader who combines operational excellence with a spirit of humility and service, contributing to our vision of building an organization that embodies redemptive principles in all aspects of its work and culture, which includes shared rhythms such as daily team prayer and a company-wide weekly Sabbath, as detailed in our Rule of Life for Redemptive Entrepreneurs (rule.praxislabs.org).

About this role

Praxis is seeking a leader to own the full digital product strategy and execution across their growing portfolio of online experiences—from the main website and Local Ecosystems platform to the newly launched Praxis Course Hub. You'll start by auditing their current technology stack and drafting a roadmap that simplifies and integrates what exists, then move into ongoing strategy, design, and delivery. This is hands-on work: you'll map user journeys, prototype and test directly in tools like Figma, partner with engineers and external dev shops, and make real decisions about what belongs where across web, email, and platform touchpoints.

The role calls for someone with 10+ years shipping digital products, ideally including early-stage launch experience and technology stack consolidation. You need strong command of UX, product management, and design—and the judgment to lead the full process from discovery through delivery. Fluency with design tools, prototyping, and no-code platforms is essential; production engineering experience is a bonus. Equally important is your philosophy: Praxis is explicit that technology should serve human dignity, restore agency rather than override it, and deepen real relationships. You'll need to be genuinely curious about AI and new tools while equally clear about their limits and when human creativity must lead.

This is a full-time, in-office role in New York City at a $15M+ nonprofit that's been building a community of faith-motivated founders and innovators since 2011. You'll work closely with their Sr. Director of Design and Director of Brand Marketing as a triad shaping the digital experience, and you'll report into a 30+ person team with ambitious growth plans.
