About this role
Kelso Building Services is looking for a Staff Accountant to own the month-end close cycle in their Ogden office. You'll manage cash application and AR aging, reconcile bank accounts and the corporate card program, maintain the fixed asset register, and prepare workpapers for tax and compliance. This is a contract role with clear monthly deliverables and a defined path toward deeper work in reconciliations, tax, and controls—ideal if you want hands-on experience across the full accounting close.
The role calls for 2–4 years of accounting experience with solid GAAP knowledge and comfort with reconciliations and ERP systems like NetSuite or QuickBooks Online. You'll need to be reliable on deadlines and flag issues early. NetSuite experience, construction accounting background, or familiarity with multi-state sales tax and corporate card platforms like Ramp would be advantages, though not required.
Success here means delivering reconciliations on time, keeping unapplied cash current, coding transactions accurately, and catching compliance gaps before they escalate. If you're looking for a structured close role where your work directly supports the accounting team and you want to build depth in a specific function, this is worth considering.
