About this role

Navan is looking for a Senior Benefits Analyst to take ownership of U.S. employee benefits operations from the ground up. You'd manage the full lifecycle of health, welfare, and retirement programs—enrollments, qualifying life events, compliance testing, vendor coordination—while also overseeing leave administration across FMLA, CFRA, parental leave, and state-specific programs. This is a hands-on role where you'll be the primary operational contact for benefits carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators, and you'll support international benefits initiatives alongside the Global Benefits Manager.

The position requires 4–6 years of progressive benefits administration experience with demonstrated expertise in health and welfare plans, 401(k) operations, and leave programs. You'll need solid working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and state leave laws, plus familiarity with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred). Experience with benefits brokers, carriers, and recordkeepers is essential, as is the ability to identify process improvements and manage competing priorities independently while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in Palo Alto with a salary range of $76,125–$169,300. It's well-suited for someone who thrives on operational detail, enjoys solving compliance and administrative puzzles, and wants to directly improve the employee experience at a growing company.
