About this role
Gas South's Commodity Supply Analyst I role sits at the intersection of data analysis and energy trading operations. You'd spend your time translating natural gas trading, scheduling, and financial data into reports that serve multiple internal divisions—SRM, AFT, Operations, and Sales—while also meeting external customer needs. The work involves reconciling transactions, analyzing market trends, managing month-end close processes with the accounting team, and occasionally negotiating disputes with internal and external parties. It's a role that demands both breadth and depth: you need to see how the pieces fit together while also being comfortable diving into details to spot inefficiencies and drive improvements.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, business administration, or engineering, with 0–3 years of back or middle office experience preferred. You should be comfortable with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools at an intermediate level, and ideally have some exposure to SQL. More importantly, you're organized and proactive, able to work independently but collaborative by nature, and genuinely curious about how natural gas markets and pipeline operations function. The role is based in Atlanta or Gainesville, Florida, and requires in-office work with standard desk-based responsibilities.
The position offers a base salary of $76,000–$79,000 and full-time benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, employer-paid life and disability insurance, 401k contributions up to 12.5%, and education assistance up to $5,250 annually. Gas South also offers remote flexibility where business needs allow, a paid four-week sabbatical every five years, and community volunteer opportunities.
