About this role

Dmg::Media's US Social Media Editor role puts you at the center of how the Daily Mail reaches its 150 million social followers across Facebook, X, Threads, Reddit, WhatsApp, and Pinterest. You'll craft headlines, design graphics, and pitch viral content that drives both engagement and subscriptions, working in real time to monitor what resonates and adjust strategy accordingly. This is editorial work with a direct performance metric—your decisions about what to post and how to frame it will show immediate results in traffic and audience growth.

The position demands someone with at least three years in fast-paced news social media who understands how to build audiences across multiple platforms. You'll need strong skills in headline writing, graphic design, and social analytics, plus the ability to spot trending topics and pitch them confidently to editors. The role operates on rotating shifts (M-F, Sun-Th, or Tue-Sat) and requires flexibility for breaking news coverage on nights, weekends, and holidays—all from the New York office.

This suits someone energized by news cycles and pop culture momentum, who sees social media not as a broadcast channel but as a place to drive real business outcomes. The salary ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 with standard benefits including healthcare, dental, optical, and 401K, plus generous PTO.
