About this role

Friendship Hospital for Animals, an AAHA-accredited specialty and emergency facility in Washington, DC, is building out its Diagnostic Imaging team and needs a Veterinary Technician focused on radiology. You'd spend your time performing x-rays across multiple study types—thoracic, abdominal, musculoskeletal, and others—while adhering to ALARA radiation safety standards. The role involves close collaboration with radiologists and other imaging staff, coordinating with hospital departments on sedated procedures, and supporting additional imaging modalities like ultrasound as needed.

Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of veterinary terminology round out the core requirements. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week with some on-call responsibility, giving you structured but flexible time off.

The compensation package runs $25–$33 per hour with shift differentials, and includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, an HSA/FSA option, generous PTO and CE allowance, 401(k) matching, and professional dues reimbursement. You'd have access to advanced equipment and a collaborative culture that emphasizes mentorship and professional growth, plus practical perks like metro discounts and pet care discounts.
