About this role

American Veterinary Group's urgent care clinic in Evans is looking for a Senior Veterinary Assistant to work in a fast-paced, technology-enabled environment handling after-hours care for dogs and cats. You'd be part of a team managing common urgent cases—wound care, infections, digestive issues, and euthanasia—using modern equipment including digital radiography, cloud-based records, and in-house lab systems. The role demands strong animal handling skills (restraint, sample collection, monitoring), clinical competency (phlebotomy, catheter placement, lab work, drug calculations), and the ability to support both patients and clients under pressure while keeping the clinic running smoothly.

This is a full-time position requiring evening, weekend, and holiday availability, plus the physical capability to lift 40 pounds regularly. You'll need prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting and customer service background. Beyond clinical tasks, you'd contribute to facility maintenance and client education, and may be asked to travel for initial training.

The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, substantial paid time off with paid parental and maternity leave, disability options, and discounted veterinary care. The company also offers tuition assistance for those pursuing veterinary technician credentials and professional development opportunities.
