About this role

Comprehensive Mobile Care is looking for an optometrist to staff one of their established outpatient clinics in the Sacramento area on a part-time basis, working either Mondays or Fridays. You'd be joining a clinic team that handles scheduling, supplies, equipment, and billing—meaning your focus stays on clinical work rather than practice management. The role emphasizes quality care and patient relationships over volume, particularly serving senior populations in a coordinated, community-based setting.

Your responsibilities would center on comprehensive eye exams, diagnosis and management of common ocular conditions, lens prescriptions, and treatment recommendations, all as part of an integrated care team. This is independent contractor work at $1000 per diem with standard clinic hours (8:30am–4:30pm) and no nights, weekends, or administrative duties. The position suits an optometrist with an active California license and preferably some experience with seniors who values schedule predictability and meaningful work without the overhead of running their own practice.
