About this role

Animal Care Center's small animal practice in Baxter is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join a three-doctor team that's built its reputation on stability and collaboration. Whether you're a new graduate seeking structured mentorship or an experienced DVM ready to settle into a long-term role, you'd be working with veterinarians and support staff who have stayed for decades—a sign of genuine team culture. The practice handles challenging cases collaboratively rather than in isolation, and the high technician-to-doctor ratio means you can focus on quality medicine instead of rushing through appointments.

The schedule is straightforward: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no regular weekend work. This predictability, combined with the Brainerd Lakes Area's outdoor recreation—boating, fishing, hiking, golf, snowmobiling, skiing—appeals to veterinarians who want their evenings and weekends back. Compensation ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 base salary, plus a $50,000 sign-on or relocation bonus and production bonuses with no negative accrual. Benefits include up to five weeks PTO, a $2,500 continuing education allowance with CE time off, 401(k) matching, comprehensive health coverage, paid parental leave, and employer-paid life and disability insurance.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available. If you value a supportive environment, work-life balance, and the chance to build client relationships without constant burnout, this role merits a conversation with Megan Cross at megan.cross@lakefieldvet.com.
