About this role

Grasshopper Bank seeks an SBA Senior Credit Officer to lead credit underwriting, risk decisioning, and regulatory compliance across its government-guaranteed lending portfolio. You'll manage the full SBA department's credit quality, establish and refine internal credit guidelines aligned with SBA Standard Operating Procedures, and ensure the bank maintains strong portfolio integrity while meeting all regulatory requirements. This role reports to senior leadership and requires close collaboration with the Head of Commercial Underwriting, Head of SBA Lending, and executive stakeholders on risk oversight and credit policy.

The position demands 5–7 years of direct SBA credit underwriting and management experience, with demonstrated expertise in SBA SOP eligibility, financial analysis, and commercial credit decisioning. You'll oversee loan approvals, conduct credit reviews, lead regulatory and internal audits, manage external vendors, and mentor underwriting and servicing staff. Strong financial modeling skills, commercial credit analysis capability, and the ability to identify and escalate emerging portfolio risks are essential.

This is a remote role suited to someone with senior-level SBA lending experience who can operate independently while managing cross-functional relationships and regulatory liaison duties. If you have the required SBA background and thrive in a role balancing credit quality oversight with strategic guidance to bank leadership, this opportunity offers meaningful responsibility within a digitally focused, growth-oriented bank.
