About this role

Elastic's Product Marketing organization is looking for a Principal Competitive Intelligence Manager to own the Security competitive landscape. You'll build and run a comprehensive intelligence program that tracks competitors' products, pricing, strategies, and market moves, then translate those insights into battlecards, positioning documents, blogs, and sales enablement materials. The role demands someone who can synthesize technical details into compelling business narratives for audiences ranging from solution engineers to the C-suite, while staying deeply connected to Security market trends and key players.

Success here requires a blend of technical depth and business acumen. You'll need proven experience in security, ideally from roles like sales engineering, technical marketing, or competitive analysis, combined with the analytical rigor to assess competitor solutions and propose effective responses. Equally important is the ability to collaborate across product, sales, engineering, and leadership to shape positioning for new offerings and participate in win/loss analysis that informs both strategy and product decisions.

This is a principal-level position based in the US office, offering a salary range of $135,700–$214,700 (higher in select metro areas), plus stock eligibility and a 401k match. The role suits someone who thrives in ambiguity, communicates across technical and executive levels, and can turn data into actionable market insights in a dynamic, competitive space.
