About this role

GPS Dental's Downtown Portland location is bringing general dentistry and dental hygiene services into an existing specialty practice, and they're looking for a Registered Dental Hygienist to help build this expanded offering. The role centers on clinical hygiene work—prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, radiographs, and patient education—within an assisted hygiene model where you'll work alongside a dedicated dental assistant while managing two treatment columns. This setup is designed to let you deliver efficient, quality care while developing patient relationships in a collaborative environment.

The position is part-time with a guaranteed base of $65 per hour plus commission, offering both income stability and upside potential. You'll work Mondays and Tuesdays as your core schedule, with the option to pick up shifts at other locations. The role suits someone with an active state dental hygiene license and current CPR/BLS certification who genuinely enjoys patient education and preventative care, works well in a team-oriented setting, and can maintain clinical precision in a fast-paced practice. Beyond compensation, the package includes PTO, medical and vision insurance options, 401(k) matching, and professional development support.
