About this role

Convene Hospitality Group is looking for a Back of House Service Technician to join its New York City operations, where you'd support the food service department across dishwashing, equipment maintenance, and kitchen sanitation. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you'd be responsible for keeping the dish room, kitchen equipment, and work areas clean and organized to health and safety standards—including operating dish machines, washing cookware, managing trash and recycling, and occasionally prepping vegetables. The role also involves some customer-facing interaction, such as greeting guests and relaying feedback to supervisors, so you'd need to represent the company courteously while maintaining focus on behind-the-scenes operations.

The position requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds regularly, and move between storage and work areas. Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is preferred but not required. You'll work full-time at $21 per hour with eligibility for an annual performance bonus, plus benefits including day-one health coverage, PTO, paid parental leave, 401(k) matching, and professional development support. Convene emphasizes team-oriented culture and values flexibility, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset—qualities that matter whether you're managing the dish station or interacting with guests.
