About this role
Avride's Autonomy Platform Engineering Hardware team needs a hands-on electronics technician in Austin to diagnose, repair, and assemble the compute, power, networking, and sensor electronics that run their autonomous vehicles and delivery robots. You'd split your time between the electronics lab and the fleet, working through test procedures to identify faults, performing PCB rework under a microscope, terminating cables and harnesses, installing units on vehicles, and building prototype hardware and test fixtures. The role demands precision and discipline—you'll document everything clearly and keep meticulous records as you work through assigned tasks.
This position suits someone with strong soldering skills (especially fine-pitch SMD work), hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and bench power supplies, and the ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams confidently. You need to be comfortable following detailed written procedures exactly and working independently to finish on schedule. IPC certifications in soldering, rework, or cable assembly are valued, as is prior experience with automotive or vehicle electronics, though not required if you have solid equivalent hands-on experience.
The role is full-time and hybrid in Austin, with no remote work or relocation support available. You must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to work a flexible schedule coordinated with the team.
