About this role
Kelso Industries' mechanical construction division is expanding and seeking a Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC, piping, and mechanical projects from start to finish. You'd own the full project lifecycle—developing schedules and resource plans, managing budgets and labor costs, coordinating procurement and subcontractors, and maintaining client relationships. The role demands someone comfortable juggling multiple active projects while staying on top of financial performance, safety compliance, and quality standards. You'd work closely with field teams, estimators, and operations staff to solve problems, track progress, and ensure projects close out successfully.
The position requires at least three years managing commercial mechanical construction projects, with solid experience in project controls, contract administration, and resource coordination. You should be comfortable reading blueprints and technical documents, proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software, and capable of communicating clearly with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders. A background in HVAC, hydronic systems, sheet metal, or building controls is a plus, as is a degree in Construction Management or a related field, though equivalent industry experience counts.
This is a contract role based in Atlanta requiring in-office presence and the ability to visit project sites across the service area. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. OSHA 30 certification and professional credentials like PMP or CCM are preferred but not mandatory.
