Description
Sales Development Representative
About Toro TMS
Trucking runs on pen and paper or software built decades ago, and most carriers are stitching together a half-dozen tools that don't talk to each other. We're replacing all of it.
Toro is a modern, end-to-end TMS built specifically for asset-based carriers — the companies that own the trucks and employ the drivers. Load management, dispatch, driver pay, invoicing: one system. More loads moved. Invoices out the door faster. Drivers paid correctly and on time. This is what it means to run on Toro TMS.

About this role
Toro TMS is building modern software to replace outdated systems in the trucking industry, and this Sales Development Representative role puts recent graduates on the front lines of that mission. You'll be responsible for generating and qualifying leads through cold outreach and inbound follow-up, then handing off qualified opportunities to the Account Executive team. The work combines prospecting, discovery calls, and relationship building with carriers—all while developing deep product and industry knowledge in a fast-paced startup environment.
This role suits someone with customer-facing experience (sales, retail, service) who's genuinely interested in learning software sales and thriving in a startup setting. You'll receive training from experienced salespeople and have clear metrics to hit: monthly quotas for qualified opportunities and sourced ARR. The position is full-time, in-office five days a week at Toro's downtown Chicago office, starting June 7, 2027, and structured as base pay plus uncapped commission. If you have cold calling or door-to-door sales experience, that's a plus, but what matters most is ambition, coachability, and willingness to master both the product and the sales craft.
