About this role

Ascension's orthopedic unit in Austin is seeking a registered nurse to bridge clinical care with broader system operations. You'd work across multiple stakeholder groups—physicians, administrators, and managed care partners—while directly managing patient navigation and care coordination for the orthopedic population, with particular focus on uninsured and under-insured patients. The role combines hands-on patient advocacy with data analysis and process improvement, requiring you to synthesize outcomes metrics and champion quality initiatives alongside your clinical team.

This position suits an RN with case management or patient navigation experience who thrives in a coordinator role rather than traditional bedside nursing. You'll need current Texas licensure and preferably BLS certification. Beyond clinical skills, success here depends on your ability to communicate across departments, build community partnerships, and translate data into actionable improvements. Ascension is a large nonprofit Catholic health system with established workplace recognition and a stated commitment to inclusive employment.
