Description

As a full-service engineering, design, and construction services firm, Mi-Tech delivers comprehensive support for utility and infrastructure projects from planning and design through execution. Our multidisciplinary team provides practical, innovative solutions that emphasize cost efficiency, constructability, and long-term value. Founded in 1985, Mi-Tech has built a reputation for excellence in engineering, design, environmental, laboratory, technical, and field services across multiple industries. The 2026 merger with J.D. As a proud member of the Michels Family of Companies, Mi-Tech collaborates with an internationally respected team to deliver integrated, end-to-end engineering, design, and construction solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

As a Design Technician (Civil/Structural Drafter), your key responsibility will be to work with our team of highly skilled in-house engineers, using our CAD standards, to create engineered drawing submittals for design/build earth retaining structures and deep foundations. Drawing submittals typically consist of civil/structural plan view overlays, profile views, section views and structural connection details developed in the Autodesk AutoCAD 2D environment. Occasional development of 3D models to better understand potential design restraints and conflicts may also be required.

About this role

Mi-Tech Services, a division of Michels Corporation, is seeking a CAD Technician II to support the design and documentation of earth retaining structures and deep foundations for utility and infrastructure projects. Working in-office in Denver, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers to produce civil and structural drawing submittals—plan views, profiles, sections, and connection details—primarily in AutoCAD 2D, with occasional 3D modeling to identify design conflicts and constraints.

The role requires 3 to 8 years of CAD experience with strong AutoCAD 2D proficiency; Civil 3D and Revit skills are valued but not required. You'll need a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. The position suits someone detail-oriented who thrives on technical challenges, values clear communication with teammates, and prefers working in organizations that invest in continuous improvement rather than defaulting to established practices. Mi-Tech commits $5,000 annually per employee toward training and emphasizes safety and collaborative problem-solving across the team.

The salary range is $30,000 to $42,000 annually, adjusted based on your specific experience, education, and qualifications. This is a full-time, in-office role at a family-owned firm with backing from one of North America's largest infrastructure construction companies.
