About this role

Working an overnight shift as the senior specialist on 10a Labs' imminent risk team means you'd be the primary decision-maker and mentor during your Monday–Friday 12 AM–8 AM window. Your core responsibilities center on reviewing and flagging content for escalation, handling the toughest edge cases that Junior Specialists bring to you, and maintaining quality standards through spot checks and calibration. You'd also guide the junior team and weekend crews, coordinate handoffs with the Principal, and serve as the reliable point of contact when issues arise—sometimes outside your scheduled hours.

This role demands 2–4 years of law enforcement or equivalent background, plus demonstrated expertise in crisis intervention, threat assessment, or violent crime investigation. You need proven experience reviewing violent content and credible threats, a track record of mentoring others, and the judgment to make high-stakes calls on ambiguous cases. Clear communication with leadership and stakeholders, combined with the ability to stay composed while regularly exposed to graphic and distressing material, are non-negotiable.

The position is fully remote but requires U.S. residency and occasional in-person onboarding and office days. The salary ranges from $145,000 to $165,000 depending on experience and location, with standard benefits including PTO and a 401(k). Given the nature of the work, 10a Labs provides dedicated mental health support and wellness resources. This is a 12-month engagement with possible extension, supporting a client in the AI safety and threat intelligence space.
