About this role
Working at an economics consulting firm rather than a traditional law practice, you'd handle contract review, legal research, and corporate administration in a fast-paced environment that spans multiple offices and time zones. The role centers on drafting and negotiating client engagement letters, vendor agreements, and NDAs; supporting proposal responses; coordinating with billing on new projects; and managing corporate filings and insurance renewals. You'd work closely with Brattle's legal team, consulting staff, and external counsel, which means substantial exposure to how legal work intersects with business operations and client relationships.
This contract position suits someone with one to three years of business experience—legal or professional services preferred—who has strong research and writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to juggle competing priorities. You'll need proficiency in MS Office and Windows, solid analytical and communication abilities, and willingness to accommodate colleagues across different time zones. The salary range is $60,000 to $65,000, with eligibility for bonus based on performance.
The role offers genuine learning opportunities and growing responsibility as the firm expands, making it a reasonable entry point into legal work outside the traditional law firm structure. Note that this is an in-office position in Chicago and does not include immigration sponsorship.
