About this role

CBIZ is hiring a Sales Development Representative to launch new business relationships for its Benefits & Insurance division. You'll spend your first months building outbound prospecting skills—making high-volume calls, crafting targeted emails, and using social selling to book initial meetings between prospects and the sales consulting team. The role relies heavily on Salesforce, SalesLoft, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify and qualify leads, then document everything meticulously as you move prospects through the pipeline.

This is structured as a 19-month development track, not a permanent SDR role. After your first nine months of sales development training and business development work, you'll transition into a B&I service line position, pursue relevant licensing, and move toward a sales producer role. The company invests in coaching and skill-building throughout, so you need to be coachable, driven to compete, and genuinely curious about advisory services. You should be comfortable with rejection, skilled at objection handling, and capable of maintaining quality while dialing constantly.

The position requires at least one year of sales and customer service experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and ideally a bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Sales, or a related field. If you're looking for a structured entry point into B2B sales with a clear path to a producer role at a large, established firm, and you thrive in fast-paced environments with measurable targets, this could be a fit.
