We’re growing, and we’re currently looking for a Controller to join us.

About the Role

We’re looking for an exceptional, hands-on accounting leader to own our accounting function day to day, from monthly close through consolidated US GAAP financials, audits, controls, and technical accounting. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll ensure the integrity of our numbers, develop the team, and continuously improve how the function operates.

Our business model uniquely combines SaaS and prepaid customer wallets with a global gift marketplace, branded merchandise, and international fulfillment. Across six entities and multiple currencies, that creates complex accounting across revenue recognition, principal versus agent judgements, wallet balances and breakage, physical goods, intercompany, FX, tax, and statutory reporting.

Your impact will extend beyond Accounting. You’ll work directly with leaders and teams across the business on new initiatives and complex problems, bringing strong judgement, practical solutions, and the ability to drive work through completion. You’ll be equally comfortable in the accounting detail and understanding the broader business implications.

You’ll help accelerate the close, strengthen controls, and build a high-performing international accounting team. You’ll work with NetSuite, SuiteBilling, and an integrated finance stack processing tens of thousands of transactions each month, with a strong focus on automation and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and US GAAP consolidation across six entities, including intercompany, FX revaluation, and translation, driving a reliable close in 10 working days or fewer.
  • Own balance sheet integrity, ensuring material accounts are properly reconciled, supported, and reviewed.
  • Lead technical accounting analysis across revenue recognition, principal versus agent, customer wallet balances and breakage, landed cost, and vendor rebates, recommending positions to the CFO and ensuring they are implemented correctly.
  • Lead the group and UK statutory audits from planning through fieldwork and sign-off.
  • Own and improve internal controls, including controls over prepaid customer wallet funds and segregation of duties.
  • Manage statutory accounts and tax compliance with external advisers, including corporate tax, US sales tax, and UK and EU VAT.
  • Work directly with leaders and teams across the business on projects and new initiatives where Finance is involved, bringing accounting and commercial perspective and driving the Finance work through completion.
  • Improve accounting processes, systems, and automation across NetSuite and key integrations to increase speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Lead, develop, and performance-manage the international accounting team, setting clear expectations and a high bar for performance.

About You

  • Strong hands-on accounting background, typically 8+ years, ideally including public accounting or experience in a complex, multi-entity business.
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge, including ASC 606 and principal versus agent judgements.
  • Experience owning a multi-entity, multi-currency close and consolidation, including intercompany and FX, and leading external audits.
  • Strong technical and business judgement, with the ability to research accounting positions, understand broader implications, and communicate clear recommendations.
  • Proven cross-functional leader who builds credibility across the business, works independently and collaboratively with leaders and teams, and drives complex work through resolution.
  • Strong people leader who sets clear expectations, develops high performers, addresses underperformance, and builds capability across the team.
  • Experience designing and operating internal controls in an audited environment.
  • Hands-on ERP experience, ideally NetSuite, with a track record of using systems and automation to improve processes.
  • Proactive, organized, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving international business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with physical goods, marketplace, stored-value, prepaid, or payments accounting, including areas such as landed cost, vendor rebates, customer funds, gift cards, or breakage.
  • Experience with UK and European entities, including statutory accounts, VAT, or other local compliance requirements.
  • NetSuite experience in a high-volume environment, ideally including SuiteBilling and integration-driven transactions.

The Benefits

  • Competitive salary with generous stock options
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance, including mental health support and fast access to care
  • Flexible PTO that increases the longer you’re with us, plus extra flexibility for life’s unexpected moments
  • A genuinely collaborative culture with innovative, fun, and ambitious people

About this role

Reachdesk is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting function across a genuinely complex business model. You'd own the monthly close, consolidation, and US GAAP financials for six entities spanning multiple currencies and geographies, while managing technical accounting challenges unique to their platform: revenue recognition across SaaS and prepaid wallets, principal versus agent judgements, customer wallet breakage, physical goods, and intercompany transactions. Reporting to the CFO, you'd also lead external audits, strengthen internal controls, and drive continuous improvement across their NetSuite and integrated finance stack.

This role demands both depth and breadth. You'll need 8+ years of accounting experience with strong US GAAP grounding—particularly ASC 606 and complex consolidation work—but you'll spend just as much time partnering with business leaders on strategic initiatives, building and managing an international accounting team, and translating technical positions into commercial context. The business model (combining SaaS, marketplace, and physical fulfillment) means you'll encounter accounting scenarios most controllers don't face regularly, making prior experience with stored-value, prepaid, or payments accounting a meaningful advantage.

The role is fully remote for US East Coast candidates and offers competitive salary ($170,000–$200,000), equity, and standard benefits. It suits someone who thrives in ambiguity, owns problems end-to-end, and genuinely enjoys both the accounting detail and the business strategy behind it.
