About this role

Strategic Mission Critical's VDC internship offers hands-on experience in a specialized sector: designing and modeling mission-critical data center infrastructure using Revit and industry-standard virtual construction tools. Over six months, you'll work on active projects alongside experienced professionals, developing technical modeling skills while learning how VDC supports real-world construction coordination, fabrication, and field execution. The role is structured to give you genuine exposure to how virtual design translates into built projects at scale.

The program requires at least one completed Revit course and demands full-time availability (Monday–Friday) for the first six weeks, after which the schedule becomes flexible at 16–36 hours per week to accommodate ongoing studies. You'll earn $22 per hour and need to complete a minimum of 400 total hours over the 24-week internship in Phoenix. This role is designed for current students, recent graduates, or upcoming graduates with coursework or degrees in MEP, Architectural Engineering, Construction Technology, BIM/VDC, or related building systems disciplines.

Strong performance may lead to consideration for full-time employment after the internship concludes. If you're looking to build practical VDC skills in a growing sector driven by data center demand and AI infrastructure expansion, and you can commit to the initial full-time block, this internship provides structured mentorship and real project experience.
