About this role
At Ascension's Chicago location, this manager role oversees the strategic and operational leadership of multiple diagnostic imaging departments. You would be responsible for coordinating services across radiology, sonography, nuclear medicine, cardiac imaging and related specialties, working to align clinical quality with operational efficiency while building strong relationships among technologists, physicians and other departments.
The position demands hands-on management across several domains: staffing and professional development, budget and vendor oversight, compliance with federal and state regulations, and the day-to-day scheduling and performance metrics that keep departments running smoothly. You'll need a clinical credential in one of the imaging specialties—radiography, sonography, nuclear medicine, cardiac imaging, or MRI—plus either seven years of relevant experience, or a degree combined with fewer years in the field. Three years of prior leadership or management experience is preferred.
This is suited to someone with a clinical imaging background who has developed management capabilities and is ready to lead at scale within a large health system. Ascension describes itself as a nonprofit Catholic organization with emphasis on service and inclusion, and the role is based in-office in Chicago.
