About this role
HiddenLayer is building the federal sales function for an AI security company protecting national security organizations from adversarial AI attacks. As Director of Federal Sales, you'd own the complete federal strategy and pipeline for the Department of War and Intelligence Community, starting as a player-coach who generates revenue while establishing the processes and team structure to scale the organization. This is a contract role based remotely within the US, with DC Metro preferred, requiring an active TS clearance (TS/SCI highly desired).
The work spans the full federal sales cycle: qualifying and managing the existing pipeline, building new opportunities through account planning and capture activities, developing relationships with senior government stakeholders and decision-makers, managing strategic partners like VARIs and systems integrators, and coordinating internal resources to deliver proposals and demonstrations. You'll maintain forecasts in Salesforce and Clari, represent HiddenLayer at federal events, and travel 10–25% annually. Success requires 8+ years in federal sales or business development—ideally in cybersecurity, AI, or national security technology—plus deep knowledge of federal acquisition, contracting, and procurement. You should have existing relationships within DoD and the Intelligence Community, experience scaling federal sales organizations, and the ability to translate complex AI security concepts into mission outcomes for government buyers.
