About this role
Supporting both HR and operations at a 300-lawyer international law firm, this contract role offers broad exposure to professional services administration. You'd handle executive calendaring and travel for the Chief Administrative and Human Resources Officer and Chief Financial Officer, manage HR transactions like onboarding and employment verifications, process invoices and expense reimbursements, and maintain personnel records and systems. The position also involves internal communications, event coordination, and serving as a triage point for HR and operations inquiries across the firm.
The role requires a bachelor's degree and one to two years in a professional services environment, ideally with HR experience. You'll need strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and firm applications, solid communication skills, and the ability to juggle competing priorities from multiple stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality. The work demands someone organized and detail-oriented who can stay composed under pressure and take initiative without constant direction.
Based in Boston with a hybrid arrangement, you'd be onsite Monday through Thursday most weeks, with Fridays remote. The contract position pays $57,600 to $72,100 depending on your background. This is a good fit if you're looking to deepen HR and operations knowledge in a structured legal environment while building administrative expertise across multiple functional areas.
