In this role, you'd spend your days prospecting into commercial real estate firms and manufacturers—making 300+ cold calls weekly, sending targeted emails, and booking exploratory meetings with your VP of Sales. The work is straightforward: qualify leads, learn the energy procurement space as you go, and build a pipeline of opportunities for the sales team to close.
This position suits someone who thrives on activity and results. You'll need genuine tenacity, strong communication skills, and the self-motivation to work independently while hitting concrete weekly targets (2-3 meetings booked). The company emphasizes its fast-growth trajectory and clear advancement path—they position this as one of the quickest routes to Account Executive in the industry. Year one earnings range from $75,000 to $85,000 base plus uncapped commission, and the role is full-time, in-office in Chicago.
If you're energized by prospecting, comfortable with rejection, and interested in learning the commercial real estate and energy sectors while building your sales foundation, this could be a strong fit. The recession-resistant industry and entrepreneurial culture appeal to people who want stability alongside growth potential.
