    About this role

Ascension's Registered Nurse IMC Float position in Austin places you in step-down and intermediate care units where you'll manage high-acuity patients requiring specialized monitoring and intervention. You'll rotate across units, which means adapting quickly to different workflows and EHR systems while maintaining continuity of care. The role centers on managing complex therapies—vasoactive drips, central and arterial lines, and non-invasive ventilation—alongside continuous telemetry monitoring and the ability to recognize and respond rapidly to clinical deterioration.

This is a demanding role that requires strong clinical assessment skills and the composure to activate emergency protocols when patients show signs of acute change. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams on handoffs, medication safety, and discharge planning, so collaboration and communication are essential. The position demands a Texas RN license before hire and BLS certification within 30 days; ALS and PALS certifications are preferred but not required. A nursing diploma or degree from an accredited program is the baseline education expectation.
